Roadmap
Where Cra is going
Honest statuses, no dates. Vote on what matters to you in the issues.
Next
3Coming up next.
Notarized builds
Signed with a Developer ID so a regular download opens with no approval in System Settings.
Automatic updates
Cra checks for a new build and installs it in place. Until then, rerun the install line.
GitHub live folders
A folder that fills itself with your open pull requests, review requests and assigned issues, and empties as they close. Sign in with GitHub once; the folder stays current in every space.
Later
3Wanted, not started.
Homebrew
brew install --cask cra.
Intel builds
The build script pins Apple silicon today.
Sync between Macs
Spaces and settings kept in step across your Macs.
Shipped
10In the current build.
Spaces, pinned tabs, favorites, folders
The sidebar model, with per-space Today lists and colour themes.
Command bar with learned ranking
Open tabs, archive, history, popular domains and actions in one box.
Auto-archive and the Library
Closed tabs are kept, searchable, and restorable.
Split view
Up to four tabs side by side in one window, horizontal or vertical, kept in the sidebar like any tab.
Little Windows
Links from other apps open in a small window outside the sidebar; ⌘O moves the page into a space.
Picture in Picture
Videos pop out into a floating window, automatically when you leave a playing tab.
Chrome extensions
From the Chrome Web Store, an unpacked folder, or imported from another Chromium browser.
Ad and tracker blocking
A built-in list of more than 22,000 domains, on by default, with first-party requests left alone.
Import from any browser
Arc, Dia, Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Firefox, Zen and Safari, including passwords and sign-ins.
Settings and a shortcut recorder
Every shortcut is rebindable in Settings, with conflicts flagged. Default browser, Dock and open-at-login in one place.
Not planned
3Asked for, deliberately left out.
Windows or Linux
Cra is AppKit and SwiftUI around CEF. A port would be a different app.
Built-in AI assistant
Cra stays a browser. Use the sites you already use.
Telemetry
There is nothing to turn off.
